Properties: - Colourless - Noncombustible. - Odorless - melts at 132.7° C (271° F) and decomposes before boiling
Uses: - Urea is used to treat dry/rough skin conditions (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, corns, callus) and some nail problems (e.g., ingrown nails). - It may also be used to help remove dead tissue in some wounds to help wound healing. - Urea is also used in the manufacture of synthetic resins with various applications such as plastics, adhesives, moldings, laminates, plywood, particleboard, textiles, and coatings. - other minor uses are as dehydrating lotion, diuretics, deicers, and cold-compresses. - Urea can be applied to soil as a solid or solution or to certain crops as a foliar spray. - Urea usage involves no fire or explosion hazard.
