USES: Used in shampoos and hair after-treatment preparations. Acts as a conditioning agent. Offers benefits such as favorable effect on wet and dry combability, substantivity and compatibility with anionic surfactants.
Application: In food and beverages, guar gum is used as a thickening, stabilizing, suspending, and binding agent.It is a good thickener, stabilizing and suspending agent for veterinary preparations, It forms gels and retains moisture.
Method: This product must be hydrated well ahead of time in a portion of room temperature water taken from your recipe. Mix really well with a hand mixer, you can hand blend but be careful as you don’t want to create too many bubbles. Next allow to stand for at least 10 to 15 minutes or until it is well hydrated, at this stage it will form a gel consistency. Basically guar gum needs to disperse effectively, before you add it to the rest of the water phase.Once complete you can continue with the heating and holding phase of all your water ingredients including the guar gum.
