There are so call "soy" wax in the market which are actually proprietary blends specially formulated for candles and have increase fragrance load. These are not soy wax.
Using our wax to substitute for these (especially putting in more fragrance) will not work. Please check your current material before you purchase ours. These blends as we know include the following:
- Golden Wax
- Nature Wax
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
Properties:
Soy wax is available in flake and pellet form and has an off-white, opaque appearance
softer than paraffin wax
melting point - 65.6 - 70 C
- the density of soy wax is about 90% that of water or 0.9 g/ml
Uses:
Soy wax is used by candle makers in a number of ways.
- Used in toiletry and cosmetics such as lip balm, cold process soap, lotion bars and solid perfume balms.
- Soy wax emulsions are used for paper and packaging applications.
