Thermochromic materials change colour at specific temperatures. This thermochromic pigment changes at 88⁰F (31 ⁰C) from colored to transparent This heat-sensitive pigment is perfect for a wide range of arts and crafts and mixes well with most mediums, paints, and resins.
Make your own heat-sensitive mugs, secret messages, mood rings, nail polish, slime/goo, or whatever you can imagine.
Using the Thermochromic Pigment :
- To begin by creating a test/demonstration strip on paper or plastic sheet (e.g. a thin walled plastic cup). Mix a small amount of pigment into the acrylic base and dilute with water, if necessary, so it can be applied with a small paint brush. The painted surface should be left to dry in a warm place, where the colour-change effect will become apparent even before drying is complete. - Use only the minimal amount of pigment for the desired colour.
