Magnesium Hydroxide is used as a flame retardant because it thermally decomposes in a similar way as aluminium hydroxide and mixtures of huntite and hydromagnesite, to release water.
Widely used in the cosmetic industry as absorbent, filler and as buffering and neutralizing agent for controlling pH levels.
